Description
I believe these are Canada Geese. I called them Ben and Bev and like Wurburt the wild rabbit who incidentally had one of his burrows at the right-hand side of the base of the tree behind them, they gave me special attention. They didn't follow me about really but always contrived to be within 100 yards of wherever I went on the Bay of Quinte. They'd got some young ones to protect so I guess that was the reason but all the animals around where I stayed were very inquisitive including a Canadian black and white humming bird who flew right in front of my face and looked at me for a while before scooting off at speed. Oh and loads of Canadian robins which are not loners like their English cousins. They'd encircle me wherever I was, pretendinfg to peck at the ground but always nosying into what I was doing If I tried to conceal what I was doing they'd peck their way slowly closer to try to see or even fly overhead taking aerial looks
