I shot this at the side of a narrow track in a farming area of Ontario. (I shall upload another photo to show the general kind of habitat. I think this location was somewhere between Warkworth and Bewdley. But I've seen this very interesting plant in many places a couple of hours driving in all directions from the Bay of Quinte. I believe it is very common and widespread.
I am going after some really tiny forest flowers tomorrow. We live in the heart of a forest, but it's mostly lodge pole pine and aspen trees...very few flowers or ferns!
Maybe there are some on the edges or along paths and in clearings? I wish I was going lolololol. Do you know, I spent hours upon hours upon hours in Canada just looking lol. Well, it was a photographic holiday...my first...and I enjoyed it SO much!!!!
